Астероид класса САстероиды класса C — тёмные углеродистые объекты. Это наиболее распространённый класс астероидов, в него входит 75 % всех известных астероидов, а во внешней части пояса астероидов процент таких тел ещё выше, за орбитой 2,7 а. е. этот тип астероидов является основным. Количество астероидов этого класса на самом деле может быть ещё больше, так как они имеют более низкую отражающую способность среди других спектральных классов и в связи с чем их сложнее обнаружить.
Class C asteroid
Class C asteroids are dark carbon objects. This is the most common class of asteroids, it includes 75% of all known asteroids, and in the outer part of the asteroid belt the percentage of such bodies is even higher, in orbit 2.7 AU. this type of asteroid is the main one. The number of asteroids of this class may actually be even higher, as they have lower reflectivity among other spectral classes and therefore are more difficult to detect.
